PRODUCTS:

Custom production of precision cold-formed metal products: coiled springs including compression, extension, torsion, double torsion, and garter; flat springs, constant force springs; wire forms; and small stampings. Assembled components include stamped, machined, and fastener products.

PLANT:

Facility is 120,000 square feet located in Muskegon, Michigan, on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. Manufactures approximately 10 percent of sales through partnerships in China.

Diversified customer base includes Fortune 500 companies and progressive smaller firms. Strategic balance between automotive (OEM to third tier), electrical, valves and controls, office equipment, and appliance industries. Serve customers both domestic and foreign.

ISO 9001:2000: Certification number 07-077 dated April 10, 2007; issued by Interterk Testing Services NA registrar, located in Kentwood, Michigan. Numerous other customer awards and certified/approved supplier status.

EQUIPMENT:

Includes mechanical, servo, and CNC types of compression, extension, torsion, double-torsion, and garter spring coilers; fourslides, multislides, Finzer, and Bihler rotary forming machines; and Bruderer high-speed presses. In-house stress relieving, shot peening, grinding, and painting. Plating and other finishing operations performed by qualified outside suppliers.

TOOLING:

Tooling is designed, built, and maintained in-house with fully staffed tool room. Machine rebuilding and maintenance are also done in-house.

TECHNICAL:

AutoCAD 2004 Mechanical, computer-aided spring design and design checking. Engineering staff available for design assistance, problem solving, prototype production, etc. Member of the Spring Manufacturers Institute (SMI).

MANAGEMENT:

Corporate organization structure/reporting to President: Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, and Finance/Administration. Product Team organizational structure in Manufacturing.

OTHER:

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), electronic fund transfer, bar coding capabilities. IBM AS/400 with MAPICS software. Routing and labor reporting using in-plant bar code stations.
